Taking Shape's FAR program is in its initial stages as we strive to make differences around the world. Currently Taking Shape is a member of Traveling Tutus and its director Tracey Wozny is a member of the IMPACT team that travels annually to Haiti, Uganda and Southeast Asia teaching arts and dance camps. The long term forecast for Taking Shape is to develop fine arts based schools in third world countries for underprivileged children and employing native residents to work in the schools.
TakingShape is a monthly sponsor of LePhare Orphanage in Port au Prince, Haiti. Our monthly sponsorship pays for 3 primary education teachers for the 32 orphans at the LePhare orphanage. Additional donations are sent for food and supplies.
TakingShape became a member of Traveling Tutus Non-profit organization in 2015. Several high school student ambassadors represent TakingShape and work towards donating used costumes, dance shoes and accessories to those in other countries and impoverished areas of the United States. Taking Shape hosts a costume drive in December and donates these items all over the world.
Tracey Wozny, founder of TakingShape is a proud team member of IMPACT, a team of artists under the direction of Katie Owings from the United States that travel to Uganda, Haiti and Southeast Asia to teach dance, art, music and movement camps to children.
